Pine Lake is a haven for visual artists, musicians and writers. Each year, on the first full weekend of October, all of these talents converge during one of Pine Lake's favorite community events: LakeFest. This year it will happen October 6th and 7th. An intimate and welcoming festival, LakeFest curates a group of 50 artists and crafts people of all disciplines to display their handmade wares within view of the lake. All-day music from local and regional favorites, family games and activities, street performers, food trucks, a floating parade with wildly-decorated watercraft, a pet show, and other diversions are sprinkled through the two days. Cozy "conversation coves" offer the festival goer a relaxing respite from shopping, eating and dancing. Now in its 18th year, the fesival is sponsored by Pine Lake City Arts, Inc., a nonprofit volunteer organization. Admission and parking are free; visitors park at the entrance to the city and take a shuttle to lakefront.
